31 Days of Horror Day 4: Ernest Scared Stupid 1991 - REVIEW by Monkey
I have been watching scary movies for a long time and I love them. My favorites are the old ones from the 80's.
Ernest Scared Stupid is about Ernest P. Worrell, played by Jim Varney, releasing an evil troll on the town he lives in. The troll sneaks around stealing children from their beds and turning them into little wooden figures. With the help of a kooky witch (Eartha Kitt) and his super cute and adorable Jack Russell Terrier, Rimshot AKA Barkley, they try to stop the trolls from taking everyone.
Ernest Scared Stupid is a hilarious horror comedy that makes me laugh so hard. The acting is perfect and everyone really brings their character to life because they are so into their characters. The witch is probably my favorite character, well other than Ernest, because she is so scary at first but then she shows a really soft side when it is time to help the children. The one thing I didn't like were the eggs. They look like those pods on the big swamp trees, very creepy and ugly and alienish. It's rated PG and it is a fun movie for all ages so sit down with your kids and watch it. Thank you!
