Entries for The Collective V.5 Undead Edition Announced



Welcome to The Collective... V.5!

The one of a kind short film collection featuring 10 short films all based on the same theme is back and this time the dead have taken over. Out to prove that the zombie genre isn’t over, it’s just overdone. The Collective V.5 features 10 short films with a new and interesting take on the undead.

The films range from intimate to insane with each filmmaker putting their own unique twist on the idea. The films featured on The Collective V.5 provide something Hollywood hasn’t had in a long time, heart. These filmmakers stand as proof that it doesn’t take a huge budget to make a great film, it only requires a huge imagination.

Welcome to The Collective V.5 Undead Edition!

The Collective V.5 will make its debut at Days of the Dead Chicago on November 17th 2012. The Collective will have a vendor table set up at the show and some of the filmmakers involved will be in attendance to meet fans and discuss their films.

The World Premiere screening will be November 17h at 9:30 pm.

There will be a Q&A with the filmmakers involved following the screening.

The Collective and Days of the Dead are working together to shine a light on the best up and coming independent horror filmmakers in the scene. Often overlooked by other conventions, independent and no budget filmmakers are creating the most interesting and unique films today. Days of the Dead recognizes this talent and has gone out of its way to prove it. By providing screenings and discount vendor tables for artists and filmmakers, they have introduced fans to a whole new crop of talented individuals. We are proud of this relationship and hope to continue working with Days of the Dead in the future.

Synopsis:
Melding together Ec comics, reanimated corpses, black comedy and extreme weather, The Dead Things Outside Your Door tells the story of One guy who wants to be left the hell alone, two hillbillies, a drug pusher and an ex girlfriend who all find themselves butting heads after the worst extreme weather outbreak in midwest history. As bad as things are they're about to get worse when the recently dead start to come back.

Spooky Stuff - The Zombie File


Synopsis:
James Mannan and Robbin Panet, hosts of the web series “Spooky Stuff” spend a day (and a night) in search of zombies in Indiana.

Filmmaker Bio:
James Mannan
Jim is the Founder and Executive Producer for Liberty or Death Productions. He directed the LOD feature To Haunt You and the LOD short films Wannabe and The Burial. He also co-directed the shorts Hallows' Dance and Zracne Vile with Robbin Panet, and was also editor and producer for the short Fertility 2.0.

Film credits away from LOD include creating makeup and effects for the Cinephreak Pictures feature Shade of Grey and short Foxxy Madonna vs The Black Death (both 2006), Karmic Courage Productions' Loss (also 2006), and Finn Productions' Obsidian Nights. He worked on compositing and sound editing and was associate producer for Pink and Blue Films' W the Movie (Best Experimental Film, 2009 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.)

Acting credits for film include W the Movie, LOD's Zracne Vile and Asylum Productions' Creeporia and Elizabeth. Most recently he has appeared in Alfred Eaker's Requiem for the Relentless Fathers, a co-production between Liberty or Death Productions and Eaker Productions as the biblical prophet Samuel.

Robbin Panet
Robbin was Co-Producer and Assistant Director on the LOD projects To Haunt You (in which she also played the role of Colleen) and Wannabe, and was the DOP on the short The Burial. Recent credits include playing The Witch in Stations, a co-production between LOD and director Alfred Eaker, starring in and co-directing the surrealist shorts "9", and First Friday, and serving as DOP on the erotic ghost story The Longing. She is also the co-producer and co-star of LOD's web series Spooky Stuff.

Away from LOD she was associate producer for Pink and Blue Films' W the Movie and served as cinematographer on the short Blood Moon for the Indy Film Co-op. Additionally, Robbin has worked with Disney, Lakeshore Entertainment, Along the Tracks Productions, Phi Swo Productions, Bunk Films, The Indiana Repertory Theatre, and Finn Productions.

Recently Robbin has formed her own production company, One Stepp at a Time Productions, which has produced the shorts The Gentleman Who Fell and Suffer Well (The Collective Vol 3.)

Filmmaker Bio:
A photographer since the age of 14, David Paul Bonnell got his start in filmmaking when he interned for Director Brett Leonard (The Lawnmower Man) on his 2008 documentary “A Hole in the Head: A Life Revealed.” Then in 2009 after returning from a tour of duty in Iraq David formed Over Analyzed Productions and began making short films. In 2010 David finished his first feature film “Meltdown” following a local metal music festival. Then later that year David met Jason Hoover of Jabb Pictures at a local horror convention and was offered a spot on the inaugural Collective series entitled “The MEATEATER “. Since then David has worked all over the Midwest with some of the areas top filmmakers.

Arsonist Pictures was launched in 2010 with the microbudget zombie comedy BEVERLY LANE. “Beverly Lane” ended up on multiple TOP 10 lists & walked away with multiple awards. Arsonist Pictures just wrapped on the anti-superhero comedy THE IMPERSONATORS which will be released in 2013. Synopsis:
The undead roam free in search of flesh. Government “Safe Zones” are overrun daily. The world as we know it, is gone.

Filmmaker Bio:

The Great and Wonderful Oz of The Collective. Jason set out to create a collection that would be both a way to showcase the new up and coming talent in the indie filmmaking scene as well as provide fans of independent cinema an interesting concept at an unbeatable deal.

The Collective has since risen to a level that even Hoover himself had never imagined.

Releasing films under the JABB pictures, Death Hug Films and Spiral Filmworks names,

Hoover has produced 15 short films in the past 2 years.

Jason is currently in pre-production on his first feature length film. He continues to travel the country attending horror conventions and film festivals spreading all things JABB and The Collective. His long term goal is complete world domination.

CONSUMPTION OF THE HEART


Synopsis:
The short tells the tale of a couple whose fire in their relationship has gone out. The infection of a living dead plague puts both of them back into a head space of believing they are in love again. the film in a complex exploration of desire.

Filmmaker Bio:

Andrew Copp started making films in the mid 90's when he was ousted from film school for too transgressive of work. his first feature film the 5 year in the making ANDREW COPP'S THE MUTILATION MAN caused a stir in the underground and was the last of his work actually shot on film. From there he made one more experimental film BLACK SUN, and settled into documentaries and "grindhouse" style horror such as THE ATROCITY CIRCLE. He has been in production on his current return to experimental cinema CHURCH OF THE EYES for well over two years

Tammy Banks Anderson is a staple in the Dayton, Ohio public access scene with her own show called JUST ME. She acted playing Marilyn Monroe in the short film TALES OF A WASHED UP NEVER WAS by Andrew Copp.

Quattro Venti Scott Productions is an independent film company which currently focuses its attention on the horror and thriller genres. We pride ourselves on creating unique cross-genre films that stand out from other independent films today. Quattro Venti Scott Productions strives to produce high quality products on low/no budgets.

Starting with behind the scenes work on an indie production in 2003, Cameron always wanted to write and direct his own films. Making a transition in the business in 2008 Scott started just that with production on ‘Post Mortem America 2021’. This among other short films, Graveyard Blues, Exile and A (gore) aphobic for JABB Pictures ‘The Collective’ Scott is continuously working in film and the independent horror convention circuit. His one man army way of guerrilla film-making shows that all you need to make a great film is desire and creativity.
